Formation of Hamilton County, 1790

On the 2d of January35 His Excellency arrived at Fort Washington in the Purchase of Judge Symmes & on the 4th was pleased to order & direct that the whole of the Lands lying & being within the following Boundaries Viz: Beginning on the Bank of the Ohio River at the Confluence of the little Miami & down the said Ohio River to the Mouth of the big Miami & up said Miami to the standing Stone Forks or Branch of said River & thence with a Line to be drawn due East to the little Miami & down said little Miami River to the Place of Beginning should be a County by the Name & Style of the County of Hamilton36 And the same was accordingly laid off agreeably to the Form, Pages 14th & 15th of this Vol

Alteration of the Boundaries of Hamilton County, 1792

Whereas by the Ordinance of Congress of the thirteenth of July one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven for the Government of the Territory of the United States North west of the River Ohio It is directed that for the due Execution of Process civil and criminal the Governour shall make proper Division of the said Territory and proceed from Time to Time as Circumstances may require to lay out the Parts of the same where the Indian Titles shall have been extinguished into Counties and Townships
